There’s excitement afoot! As we sit at DFW Airport waiting to board our flight to Haneda, the anticipation is palpable. Over the next month, we’ll be diving deep into some of Japan’s most remote and unconventional corners — from the wild landscapes of Tōhoku to the cultural heart of Shikoku and the soulful traditions of northern Kyūshū.

Follow along as we share hidden gems, unexpected encounters, and uniquely Japanese experiences from the road. And, as always, we’ll close our journey in our favorite city — the incomparable Kyoto, where we’ll seek out its uncrowded treasures and share them with you. 🇯🇵
